Overview
Night Shift- We are seeking an experienced Overhead Crane Technician to oversee maintenance, repair, and operational safety of overhead cranes within industrial and construction environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, construction site experience, and familiarity with heavy equipment operation. This leadership role requires a proactive approach to ensure equipment reliability, safety compliance, and team coordination. Candidates with skills in industrial machinery, HVAC, 3-phase motor controls and trouble shooting expertise will find this type of work suitable.
Responsibilities
- Inspections, maintenance, and repair of overhead cranes to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using technical knowledge of crane systems and related heavy equipment.
- Coordinate with construction teams to facilitate safe lifting operations and equipment usage on-site.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on cranes and associated machinery including concrete mixers, dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, front loader trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, farm machinery, and tankers.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during all operations.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment inspections.
- Train and mentor junior technicians to develop their skills in crane operation and maintenance procedures.
- Assist in planning equipment use for ongoing projects to optimize efficiency and safety.
Experience
- Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge related to industrial lifting equipment and construction machinery.
- Motor controls, VFD and PLC knowledge is desirable.
- Prior experience in overhead crane maintenance is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with commercial driving licenses related to heavy equipment or truck operation is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in supervising technical teams or projects within construction or industrial settings. Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
