The Unit Assembly Coordinator provides hands-on support to Assembly operations by ensuring material readiness, part availability, and organized inventory flow to support daily production execution. This role performs a combination of material handling, small mechanical subassembly, inventory control, and documentation tasks while coordinating closely with area supervision. The position exists to improve production flow, reduce material-related disruptions, and support efficient day-to-day operations.

- Sort, stage, and prepare parts and materials to support assembly operations
- Identify, report, and document missing, incorrect, or insufficient materials
- Assemble small mechanical subassemblies in accordance with standard work
- Organize, maintain, and restock stockroom and staging areas to ensure material accuracy and accessibility
- Perform inventory checks and support basic inventory control activities
- Use basic computer tools (Microsoft Excel, Word, SharePoint) to track inventory, document discrepancies, and communicate status updates
- Coordinate closely with the area supervisor to align priorities and address material or inventory issues
- Work independently within defined tasks while supporting overall team priorities
- Support production and material flow needs beyond primary assignment when required
- Responsibilities may be reassigned by the supervisor as business needs evolve
Education/Certification:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
Skills:
- Basic mechanical aptitude, including ability to assemble small mechanical components
- Attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in parts, quantities, or documentation
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and SharePoint
- Ability to follow standard work instructions and documentation requirements
- Demonstrated reliability, organization, and ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
