MEC, Inc. is currently looking for Production Supervisor for our Wayland, MI location. In this position the top candidate will be responsible for carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include meeting production requirements, on-time shipments, quality, safety and housekeeping.
Required Skills
- Ensures employees are complying with manufacturing process documentation
- Maintains schedules adherence and works with management on proper staffing levels to meet schedules
- Maintains proper quality standards on all products being produced on shift
- Ensures that all documentation is being filled out and distributed properly
- Answers employee questions and directs them regarding work flow, equipment, production processes and procedures
- Distributes supplies, takes inventory, and initiates reorder as needed
- Advises production manager of process improvement ideas, production issues, maintenance items, safety matters, and other information
- Performs positions in the focus factory as needed including production paperwork, data entry, ability to read blueprints if called for, operate forklift, hoists and lifts
- Follows acceptable employee relation practices and company policies
- Works independently or with others to determine, troubleshoot and solve problems
- Ensures employees maintain and practice proper safety requirements including good housekeeping
Schedules all direct labor personnel on daily work activities
Required Experience
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one year equivalent experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Prior supervisory experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Word Products; ability to key critical data into CMS with accuracy and thoroughness
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
