Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
PRN
The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) provides services under the direction of a Physical Therapist to help patients restore function, reduce pain, and maintain performance in a home health setting.
- Carry out therapy plans developed by the Physical Therapist
- Assist with treatments to improve mobility, strength, and function
- Monitor patient progress and report changes to PT and care team
- Educate patients and families on exercises and care plans
- Support use of equipment (wheelchairs, braces, etc.)
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team as needed
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
- Active PTA license per state requirements
- Strong communication and observation skills
- Experience working with geriatric patients preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Work Environment
- Home health / community-based setting
- Travel required between patient homes
- Exposure to clinical environments and conditions
