What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgery Scheduler (part-time) position at MAYNOR & MITCHELL EYE CENTER P C?
Busy Ophthalmology office has a part-time position open for a Surgery Scheduler. Candidate must have a professional demeanor, be a team player, have excellent communication skills, be detail oriented, organized, and offer the highest level of customer service.
Work hours must be flexible with the doctor’s schedule, 2-3 days/week. Must be able do some travel to our main office in Huntsville.
Job Duties Include:
- Maintains surgical schedule for surgeon.
- Communicates with patients about: Scheduling, Pre-Op testing and visits, Pre-Operative Instructions, Surgical Consents, Facility Ownership Disclosure, and Transportation Requirements.
- Contacts facilities for scheduling
- Coordinates any additional pre-op testing.
- Works with the billing office to make arrangements for pre-authorizations, co-pays, deductibles, or any other patient responsible charges.
- Coordinates paperwork.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Attends required meetings.
Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or change at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.
Ophthalmic experience is preferred.
