Mayman Aerospace is looking for an experienced Avionics Engineer to join our existing engineering team designing, building and flight testing our awesome autonomous aircraft.

Mayman Aerospace is looking for an experienced Avionics Engineer to join our existing engineering team designing, building and flight testing our awesome autonomous aircraft.
What You'll Do:
- Join our engineering team to develop the Razor aircraft
- Design flight critical PCBAs, harnessing, firmware, etc.
- Help with the aircraft assembly and integration effort (e.g. derating analyses, power budgets, work instructions, etc.)
- Develop drawings for fabrication & assembly of PCBAs Harnesses
- Write test procedures for design validation, bring-up, and acceptance testing
- Spin-up firmware or detailed ICDs for PCBAs you design.
- Get hands-on with fabrication and assembly of the Razor aircraft
- Support test of COTS hardware (motor, engine, thermal testing etc.)
- Join the flight-test team (travel to test range and support the end-to-end test effort)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Computer, Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, or similar technical degree with 2 years of experience
- Strong engineering fundamentals and critical thinking
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills for technical documentation, physical documentation and hardware
- Willingness to work collaboratively across a broad range of activities to support team goals – growth-stage startups require a wide range of skills
- Ability to take ownership of tasks, and drive them to completion
- Adept at prioritizing tasks and executing multiple assignments concurrently in a rapidly changing environment
- Experience with EDA software (e.g. Altium Designer, Allegro, or equivalent)
- Experience with circuit simulation & analysis (hand calculations and/or Spice)
- Experience building electrical assemblies (soldering PCB components, splicing/crimping/terminating harnesses, epoxying/coating PCBAs, etc)
- Experience writing firmware for flight/dev hardware (e.g. Embedded C, Python, etc)
- Experience with hardware test (component, assembly, or system) - including test plans, procedures, and data review
- US citizen or resident status as this position will require access to export controlled data (security clearance is not required)
- Master’s degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering or related field
- Knowledge of harness design tools (e.g. RapidHarness, Zuken, or equivalent)
- Knowledge of HDL for FPGAs (e.g. Verilog, VHDL, or equivalent)
- Software scripting experience in Python or equivalent
- Experience with qualification testing of Avionics hardware in flight critical systems
- Experience with RF systems
- Experience with EMI/EMC compliance design and testing
