The Senior Accountant is responsible for key general accounting, financial close, financial reporting, compliance, and accounting process improvement activities. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and plays an important role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and timely completion of month-end, year-end, audit/review, tax, and compliance requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Close and Reporting
Prepare monthly and annual financial statements.
Own key components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure accurate classification of financial activity.
Review balance sheet accounts and ensure reconciling items are resolved timely.
Prepare intercompany accounting entries and consolidation support.
Support financial reporting to banks, ownership, auditors, tax advisors, and management.
Accounting Operations and Compliance
Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Lead preparation of documentation, schedules, and responses for the annual financial review.
Support sales/use tax filings, corporate registrations, and other compliance-related activities.
Assist with annual R&D tax credit study, insurance renewals, and bank reporting.
Support fixed asset accounting, capital project tracking, depreciation, and related reporting.
Assist with prepaid expenses, accruals, reserves, and other complex balance sheet accounts.
Manufacturing and Business Support
Support inventory accounting, inventory reconciliations, inventory reporting, and inventory-related financial analysis as needed.
Partner with the Cost Accountant on overhead rate development, inventory reporting, manufacturing cost analysis, variance review, and related manufacturing accounting activities.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting as needed.
Partner with operations, purchasing, inventory control, and engineering teams to improve financial accuracy, ERP data quality, accounting workflows, reporting accuracy, and internal controls.
Support improvements in manufacturing-related financial processes, including reporting consistency, transaction accuracy, and cross-functional process documentation.
Process Improvement and Systems
Identify opportunities to streamline the monthly close and improve accounting processes.
Support system upgrades, ERP improvements, reporting enhancements, and automation initiatives.
Help document accounting policies, procedures, reconciliations, and internal control processes.
Recommend improvements to reduce manual work, improve accuracy, and strengthen financial controls.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
7 years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
Manufacturing Accounting Experience Strongly Preferred.
Experience with ERP/accounting systems required.
Experience with month-end close, financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, fixed assets, and audit/review support.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
Strong Microsoft Excel and MS Office skills.

This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
