Maintenance Mechanic

Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Reports To: Maintenance Manager

Coordinates with: All departments as needed

Position Type: Full time Monday through Friday – 8 hour shifts

7:00 am - 3:30 pm or

2:30 pm-11:00 pm

Non-Exempt

Business Department: Maintenance Room

Job Characteristics

• Repair and Maintenance on Injection Molding Machines, Trowel Machines, Baggers, Robots and Grinders and other company equipment.
• Inspect, repair or replace components of machines such as screws, barrels, pistons, etc.
• Setting up, trouble shooting, debugging and modifying basic control programs
• Cleaning Equipment and robots. Remove plastic residue, and identifying, repairing or replacing broken parts
• Install new machines, which includes leveling, installing the tower water and compressed air.
• Create Assembly belts when needed
• Modifications with equipment to make sure it is safe for all to use
• Utilize preventative maintenance program to maintain and prevent failure of equipment
• Assisting with general facility Maintenance
• Machining of locks and knock out rods (limited sizes due to machine size)
• Disinfect working area daily
• Research Vendors, for parts needed checking availability processing orders to purchasing dept.
• Assure all health and safety requirements are observed and maintain work area in a neat and organized condition.

Required Skills

• Strong technical, engineering and manufacturing background
• Ability to read Blueprints and technical manuals
• Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and Adobe
• Statistical and data analysis techniques
• Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
• Close attention to detail in a fastpaced environment
• Written and verbal English communication skills
• Able to work with a team to accomplish company goals
• Willingness to keep and maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Ability to safely operate Forklifts,
• Ability to safely operate Scissor Lift
• Adherence to attendance policy
• Adherence to cell phone policy
  
  

Required Education/Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Three year’s experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a molding facility
• Power Industrial Truck License (1D) for forklift use a plus
• Valid driver’s license a plus

Occasional Weekends may be needed.
