Deerfield Packaging is looking to employ a freight processor to cross reference current orders with current inventory as well as prepare and load outbound shipments.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; bend; stoop, crouch or crawl; kneel; talk or hear; taste or smell. Additionally, workers will be exposed to a large warehouse environment and may experience loud volumes or high/low temperatures, based on current weather. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and may be required to stand for up to 3 hours at a time.
Job Characteristics
- Prepare, label and palletize outbound goods per customer specifications
- Differentiate between domestic and international shipping requirements
- Load freight onto trucks and collaborate with relevant department (IT, Customer Service, etc.) to troubleshoot any barriers
- Label packages with proper tags, such as designating team lift packages or labeling purchase orders
- Generate advanced shipping notices from customer web based portals or through internal ERP (Macola)
- Generate and distribute purchaser specific bills of lading
- Serve as point of contact for carriers, including scheduling pickups
- Coordinate with customer service department to negotiate quantities and handle expedited orders
- Perform basic maintenance on machines used, including (but not limited to) forklift, SpeedyPacker and 3M AutoTaper
- Participate in training new employees when needed
- Keen memory in regards to warehouse layout and inventory levels
- Valid Power Industrial Truck License (1D) for forklift operation
- Computer proficiency (especially web browsers and user portals, MS Outlook)
- Close attention to detail in a fastpaced environment
- Written and verbal English communication skills
- Collaborate effectively and work well in a team
- Strict attention to safety procedures and guidelines including wearing all personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Willingness to keep and maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Punctual and able to adhere to attendance policy
