Warehouse Worker/Retail Clerk

Job Description

Mayfield Paper Company sells a wide variety of products, from party supplies to cleaning products, and we are looking for that special person who can do just that. We are looking for someone who will be able to participate in warehouse operations as well as assist as a clerk in the store, helping customers. Warehouse worker responsibilities include storing materials, picking, packing and loading orders. The goal is to increase efficiency, profitability and customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales associates for processing.
• Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for stock items and distributes items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocates orders to a holding area.
• Maintain and organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
• Obtain merchandise requested by customers or receive merchandise selected by customer.
• Acknowledge and greet customers cheerfully.
• Answer customer questions and help them find what they are looking for.
• Stock shelves, counters or tables with merchandise.
• Accept payment and make change. Wrap or bag merchandise for customers.
• Keep the showroom clean and orderly.
• Use computer to search database and record transactions.
• Remove and record amount of cash in register at end of shift.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or GED plus three months or more related experience and/or training.
• Merchandising and warehouse experience a plus.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions.
• Ability to learn and adapt to current technology needs.

Physical Requirements:

• Employee is occasionally required to climb on ladders.
• Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
