General Responsibilities: Provide instruction in science, technology, engineering, and math.

Provides effective supervision of volunteers and paraprofessionals when applicable. ? Works effectively with peer leaders, supervisors, and administrators. ? Provides sound and effective techniques of instruction. ? Uses relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction. ? Responds to parent inquiries in a timely manner. • Keeps abreast of all Virginia Department of Education expectations and • requirements related to science, technology, engineering, and math instruction. • Participates in making curriculum revisions/realigns standards to incorporate 21st Century Learning Skills. • Creates a learning environment based on the 4 C’s- communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity • Facilitates “hands-on” experiments and projects that allow students to learn by doing and exploring. • Utilizes the learning management system to input/upload all created curriculum documents and related materials. • Models reflective practice and action research to improve achievement for all students. • Provides support to robotic teams, Lego teams, Science fairs, etc. 1 STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Teacher • Works closely with the K-12 Mathematics and Science Specialists and within the business and general community to support STEM education initiatives. ? Perform duties deemed necessary by the School Board and Superintendent for the efficient and successful operation of the school system. ? Complies with all school laws, State Board of Education regulations, and all rules and regulations made by the School Board and Superintendent. ? Attends all meetings called or approved by the Superintendent, Principal or Supervising Officer. ? Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Building Principal. Requisite Education & Experience: ? Most possess or be eligible for a Virginia Teaching License with a Science, Technology, Math, or PreK-6 Endorsement. ?
