Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist with experience processing high-volume payroll to ensure timely and accurate pay for employees across multiple departments. This role supports key HR functions including FMLA administration, ACA reporting, attendance tracking, and compliance while maintaining strong employee service and data integrity.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, on site in Somerville, TN.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Process high-volume weekly payroll in accordance with company policies and Tennessee/federal regulations.
- Administer FMLA and related leave programs, ensuring proper tracking, documentation, and communication.
- Manage Affordable Care Act (ACA) reporting, including eligibility tracking and annual filings.
- Monitor and maintain general HR and payroll compliance, ensuring adherence to wage/hour laws and audit readiness.
- Oversee attendance tracking and point systems, including data entry, reporting, and policy communication.
- Enter and maintain employee data in HR/Payroll software; perform audits and prepare reports.
- Support employee offboarding, including final pay calculations, benefits termination, and document processing.
- Respond to employee payroll questions, tax form inquiries, and benefits-related requests.
- Collaborate with HR and management to resolve discrepancies and improve payroll processes.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Minimum of 2-4 years of payroll or HR/payroll administration experience, including high-volume payroll processing.
- Strong knowledge of FMLA, ACA requirements, and general employment compliance.
- Experience with attendance and point-based disciplinary systems.
- Proficiency with HR/Payroll software systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, UKG, etc.).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
- High attention to detail with strong analytical skills and confidentiality.
- Ability to work under pressure while prioritizing multiple tasks and consistently meeting deadlines.
