What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Inspector I position at Mayday Mfg?
Mayday Manufacturing is a leading Aerospace machining and metal finishing company in Denton, Texas that provides a dynamic work environment with cutting-edge technology. Our company supports the growth and future of the Aerospace industry and is looking to add 3rd Shift Quality Control Inspectors, to join our team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accurately performs pre-processing inspection of manufactured parts (simple bushings)
- Basic calibration verification of tools and equipment as required
- Accurately completes all necessary paperwork including but not limited to: Receiving parts from subcontractors, job-logs, Disposition of Scrap, etc.
- Meets the needs of our customers and colleagues, you are expected to be at your workstation and ready to work at your designated start time
Competencies:
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to use inspection tools (i.e. Micrometers, Calipers)
- Ability to maintain a high-level of attention to detail
- Good command of the English language, both written and spoken
- Excellent communication skills including active listening
- Ability to follow directions and adhere to safety protocols
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Dependable and independent worker
Required Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Preferred Education and Experience:
- 2 years or more prior inspection experience
Additional eligibility qualifications:
- Must have an acceptable criminal history background check
- Must pass a drug test
Physical Demands:
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job which include, but are not limited to walking, bending, stooping, twisting, pushing, and pulling
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Occasionally lifting & carrying items which may weigh up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to access and navigate the production facility
- Hearing and vision must be within normal range with or without correction
Position type and expected hours of work:
- Full-time
- 3rd Shift 10:45pm to 7:00am
- Sunday through Thursday occasional Fridays as needed
- Some overtime may be required
