Quality Manager - Injection Molding

Nova Stevensville is a branch of Mayco International. Mayco is a design/ engineering/ manufacturing supplier to the automotive industry. Mayco is a Tier 1 supplier headquartered in Sterling Heights, Michigan with more than 7,000 employees in 45 plants across the USA, China, India, Russia, South Africa, South Korea and Australia. We provide design and advanced engineering services, tooling, manufacturing and assembly, sequencing and logistics, as well as systems integration services.

Our interior products include instrument panel systems, door panels, airbag covers, sidewall trim, garnishment molding systems, and consoles. Exterior products include front and rear bumper fascias and systems, body side moldings, grille opening panels and reinforcements. Our exterior products also include large body panels, such as hoods and doors.

In addition, we produce many specialty vehicles such as the SV 9C for SV Motors as well as several special-edition, second-stage vehicles for market niches such as the military. We serve OEMs and other Tier 1 suppliers in North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia.

JOB SUMMARY :

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This position will provide analytical, technical, and managerial support to the Quality Systems and Manufacturing Processes. Primary function of this role is to interact with the Customers, Quality Team, and Manufacturing developing and ensuring processes. This position will manage and lead the Quality Department. The Quality Manager will communicate and maintain customer expectations according to established product specifications.

POSITION SUMMARY:

• Direct interaction with the complete customer base for Mayco International to ensure customer satisfaction and to provide direction to appropriate Quality Engineers
• Establish and maintain documented quality system policies and procedures in accordance with IATF 16949 requirements.
• Communicate and clarify audit system and requirements to plant management
• Maintain IATF 16949 (and other) audit documentation and history
• Lead and support the facility IATF 16949 certification
• Comply with applicable audit requirements and communicate audit results to staff and management
• Lead and Support World Class Manufacturing methodologies
• Select audit team members and organize internal audit program
• Ensure the Corrective Action Program is managed effectively
• Document and communicate observations and problem-solving solutions
• Maintain Mayco Operating System database for Data Card reporting
• Manage plant containment activity
• Identify and provide training within the department and to the support staff
• Directly perform the following: Approve/refute Return Authorizations by QA Department, conduct employee evaluations, assign job responsibilities and review department expense reports
• Manage internal lab activities using Industry Standard equipment
• Project Support

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree and/or CQE certification preferred
• 3 to 5 years in plastic injection molding
• Formal problem-solving training (8-D, 5 Phase, CAR,)
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems
• Trained IATF 16949 or TS 16949 auditing and audit practices through accredited source
• Good communication and analytical skills
• Computer skills required
