Mayacamas Countywide Middle School (“MCMS”) is a 6-8th grade public charter middle school that will build on the strength of the proven New Tech Network Project-Based Learning Model while utilizing best-in-class curricular elements to meet the growing needs of Napa’s diverse community of families. Job Summary
Mayacamas Countywide Middle School, a public charter school founded in 2024 and operated by the Napa Foundation for Options in Education, is seeking a passionate, organized, and student-centered Instructional Aide and Afterschool Program Coordinator. This hybrid role supports our academic program during the school day and leads the implementation of our afterschool program, fostering academic growth, social-emotional development, and enrichment for our diverse student population. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in both structured classroom settings and dynamic extracurricular environments. Instructional Aide Responsibilities (During the School Day) Work under the direction of certificated teachers to provide instructional and behavioral support to students, particularly those with IEPs, 504 plans, or other specialized learning needs. Assist students one-on-one or in small groups to reinforce learning objectives and differentiate instruction. Help prepare and organize instructional materials and classroom activities. Support teachers in maintaining a positive, inclusive classroom environment aligned with school-wide behavior expectations. Supervise students in non-classroom settings such as recess, lunch, transitions, and field trips to ensure their safety and wellbeing. Communicate effectively with teaching staff and administration about student progress and needs. Perform additional duties as assigned to support school operations and student success. Afterschool Program Coordinator Responsibilities (2:30-5:30) Coordinate and lead a high-quality afterschool program for middle school students that includes academic support, enrichment activities, recreation, and social-emotional learning. Coordinate part-time staff, volunteers, and community partners involved in afterschool programming.
