Job Description: Registered Nurse – ICU (Acute Care)

Position Summary
The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the nursing care provided to a group of patients. This nurse leads the nursing team members in the care as directed by the attending physician and in collaboration with other health care providers in accordance with the philosophy and policies. Actively participates in creating an environment that fosters patient, family, physician, and employee satisfaction. Ensures decisions are based on a patient- and family-centered care philosophy using evidence-based practices, with a focus on safety, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes.
Nursing Practice
- Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and continually evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
- Analyze and prioritize problems using critical thinking.
- Informatics & Technology
- Use technology to communicate, manage information, mitigate errors, and support decision-making.
- Document patient status, interventions, responses, and outcomes accurately and timely in EHR.
- Respond to decision-support alerts appropriately.
- Protect patient record integrity and privacy.

Required Qualifications
- RN in Michigan must complete 25 contact hours of continuing education during licensure period.
- At least 2 contact hours related to pain management.
- At least 1 hour related to implicit bias training.
License:
- Current State RN License
- Current CPR training.
- Specialty certifications as required.
- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
- Knowledge and use of standard precautions, PPE, and safe patient handling equipment.
