What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barista and Cashier position at May's Parlor?
We are a small bakery cafe looking for Front of House staff to join our team at our Norfolk Location! Working hours range only between 7am-5pm. No late nights. Shifts are often 6-8 hours longs. We are closed Sundays and Mondays.
The right candidate would have a love for pastries , coffee and customer service! Must be hospitable, timely, and organized.
Must have some restaurant/hospitality experience. Experience working with coffee/ espresso machines is a plus but not required
The barista/cashier is responsible for
- Working and maintaining the cash register,
- Making coffee, using a manual espresso machine and following recipes to make coffee and tea beverages.
- Boxing and bagging pastries to order and informing customers on allergens and new menu items.
- Keeping a clean tidy work area. All baristas sweep, mop, take out trash, clean windows and barriers. etc.
- Welcomes customers by determining their coffee interests and needs.
- Keeping equipment operating by following all instructions and guidelines
- Following the City and State health codes and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $18.00 per hour
