Role Description This is a full-time mobile role for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) at Maxx Therapy Solutions. The COTA will implement occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist, focusing on improving clients’ functional skills in daily activities, work, and leisure. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting community-based sessions, monitoring client progress, documenting treatment notes, and adjusting interventions in collaboration with the supervising therapist. The role involves educating clients and caregivers on therapeutic activities, home exercise programs, and adaptive strategies to support safety and independence. The COTA will also participate in care coordination, contribute to program development ideas, and maintain regular communication with the treatment team and families.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation, with experience implementing treatment plans under OT supervision.
- Strong Patient Care abilities, including building rapport, providing client-centered interventions, and educating clients and caregivers.
- Experience or interest in Program Development and Home Care, including supporting therapy in clients’ natural environments or via telehealth.
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) and active, good-standing state licensure (or eligibility) for practice in Nevada.
- Proficiency with electronic documentation systems, telehealth platforms, and basic computer skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience with pediatric, adult, or geriatric populations in outpatient, home health, or community-based settings is preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus, as well as familiarity with culturally responsive care.
