What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Superintendent position at Maxwell Construction?
Job Summary: Maxwell is looking for Superintendents to oversee and coordinate all of the activities of a construction site according to project blueprints and schedule plans. Duties include coordinating subcontractors, performing safety checks and providing on-site direction when preparing construction sites.
Description of Tasks:
- Manage a team of workers, including work schedules, project progress and resource allocation.
- Create cost estimates for labor, supplies, materials, and other project costs.
- Collaborate with clients, Project Managers, other construction management to determine budget and timeline.
- Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers
- Create schedules for workers and subcontractors
- Hire additional subcontractors and assign work accordingly
- Maintain a daily log for the job site’s operations, reporting to management as necessary
- Make changes in the operation as necessary to best meet construction deadlines
- Implement management techniques that are cost-effective and efficient
Position Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of field experience in the commercial construction industry
OSHA 30 preferred
Demonstrated leadership abilities to manage and direct on-site project teams to successful completions
Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, walk, and work at heights for extended periods of time.
Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects.
Lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds.
Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects while carrying tools and equipment.
Vision – ability to see details at close range and details at a distance (naturally or
with correction) and distinguish colors.
Environmental Conditions:
May work outside and exposed to weather.
Wear protective or safety equipment, i.e., safety boots/shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats.
Work in dusty or dirty surroundings.
May be exposed to high levels of noise, grease, dust, and a variety of substances that are typically associated with a construction site.
