As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for guiding construction projects through every phase of the process, from preconstruction and planning through closeout. You'll work closely with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the high standards Maxwell is known for.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and project partners.
- Lead projects from conceptual planning through final closeout.
- Collaborate with design teams to develop and manage project schedules.
- Develop project budgets, forecasts, and cost-control strategies.
- Monitor project financial performance and proactively identify opportunities and risks.
- Coordinate subcontractors and trade partners to keep projects moving efficiently.
- Facilitate preconstruction meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, and project review sessions.
- Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and submittals to ensure alignment with project goals and budgets.
- Manage change orders, claims, invoices, and project reporting.
- Partner with field leadership to support successful project execution.
- Mentor Assistant Project Managers and Co-op students.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Take ownership of project success and help uphold Maxwell's reputation for quality and integrity.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Whether you're an emerging construction professional ready to take the next step or a seasoned Project Manager with years of experience, we're looking for people who are eager to learn, lead, and make an impact.
- Experience managing commercial construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, project management principles, and industry best practices.
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and subcontractor relationships.
- Ability to review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience leading project teams and developing others.
- Procore experience is preferred.
- Ability to visit active construction sites, navigate uneven terrain, climb ladders, and access multi-story structures.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to step in wherever needed to help the team succeed.
