Duties

• Operate the cash register efficiently, handling all retail sales transactions with accuracy and speed
• Provide outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and offering product recommendations
• Manage cash handling procedures, including cash drawer balancing and secure storage of cash and receipts
• Assist customers with product demos and upselling to enhance their shopping experience and increase sales
• Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and support store merchandising efforts to maintain an attractive store layout
• Maintain phone etiquette by addressing customer inquiries professionally over the phone
• Support inventory management through stocking, inventory checks, and participating in store audits

Qualifications

• Prior experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key!
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in both bilingual settings (English and another language)
• Basic math skills for handling cash register operations, retail math calculations, and balancing cash drawers accurately
• Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems and cashiering procedures is a plus
• Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities are advantageous for team collaboration roles
• Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and grocery store operations enhances performance
• Excellent phone etiquette, customer service skills, and the ability to upsell products confidently
