Maxus Properties is hiring a Leasing Agent for Peppertree Apartments and Pinnacle Woods Apartments, both located in Lawrence, Kansas. The team member will work 3-4 days at Peppertree and 1-2 days a week at Pinnacle Woods. 5 days a week total
The Leasing Agent is responsible for supporting the leasing and marketing efforts of the community while delivering an exceptional experience to prospects and residents. This role focuses on generating traffic, conducting property tours, converting leads into leases, and assisting with resident retention. The Leasing Agent serves as a key point of contact for prospective and current residents and plays an important role in maintaining occupancy goals, ensuring compliance with Fair Housing regulations, and supporting daily property operations.
Key Responsibilities
Leasing & Sales Performance
- Conduct property tours and effectively present apartment homes, amenities, and community features to prospective residents
- Follow up with prospects through phone, email, and other communication channels to convert leads into leases
- Maintain knowledge of floor plans, pricing, availability, and community policies
- Assist with lease preparation, renewals, and move-in coordination
- Achieve leasing goals and support overall occupancy and revenue objectives
Customer Experience & Resident Relations
- Provide exceptional customer service to prospects, residents, and guests
- Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries, concerns, and service requests
- Support resident retention by fostering positive relationships and assisting with renewal efforts
- Assist with resident events and community engagement initiatives
Marketing & Lead Management
- Respond to online, phone, and walk-in inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain accurate guest card documentation and lead tracking within the property management system
- Support community marketing initiatives including outreach, social media, and local partnerships
- Ensure model units, leasing offices, and tour routes are maintained to company presentation standards
Operational Support
- Assist with daily leasing office operations including answering phones, managing appointments, and administrative tasks
- Maintain accurate resident and prospect records within property management systems
- Support move-in and move-out processes, including documentation and file compliance
- Collaborate with the Property Manager and team to ensure smooth property operations
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing laws and company policies in all leasing activities
- Maintain accurate and complete lease documentation and resident files
- Follow established procedures for application processing, screening, and approvals
- Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in handling resident information
Qualifications:
Qualifications
Required:
1 year of customer service, sales, or leasing experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to build rapport with prospects and residents
Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn property management software
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred:
Previous multifamily leasing experience
Familiarity with property management software (OneSite, Yardi, or similar)
Experience in sales, hospitality, or customer-focused roles
Knowledge of Fair Housing guidelines
