Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer
Location: Casa Grande, Arizona (100% onsite)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week (No OT)
Role Summary
The Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer supports the mission of achieving highly automated manufacturing. This role works with external equipment suppliers and cross-functional internal teams—Engineering, Quality, Production, and Maintenance—to design, program, test, and commission complex automated test systems used in manufacturing.

Candidate Requirements
- Experience: 3–5 years in test engineering or related manufacturing automation roles.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
- Performance Measure: Quality and reliability of work delivered.
Top Hard Skills Required
- 2 years developing automated test equipment for manufacturing.
- 2 years launching automated test systems on high-volume production lines.
- Experience testing electric vehicle powertrain components (preferred).
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve test specifications and change requests from design engineering.
- Analyze test sequences, parameters, cycle times, and process flows.
- Design test system hardware, including system layout, cabinet/rack designs, component selection, connectors, and cable sizing.
- Develop modular test applications with intuitive GUIs; integrate databases for test parameters and data logging; implement user access controls.
- Provide input on DUT handling, interface methods, and station-level control system integration.
- Collaborate with controls engineers to develop station sequences and failure-mode responses.
- Manage sourcing, build, and validation of test equipment—internal or external.
- Create RFQs, select suppliers, and track deliverables.
- Develop commissioning and validation plans, including GR&R, red rabbits, and failure-mode simulations.
- Launch test systems on manufacturing lines and monitor performance.
- Train maintenance and operations teams on troubleshooting and error recovery.
- Work with data visualization teams to create dashboards.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical/electronic circuits, components, connectors, and cables.
- Ability to design electrical schematics using AutoCAD or Eplan.
- Experience with National Instruments platforms: PXI, cDAQ, cRIO.
- Proficiency in test application development using:
- NI LabVIEW, TestStand, Veristand
- Python, MATLAB, Arduino IDE
- Familiarity with communication protocols: Automotive Ethernet, CAN, LIN.
- Ability to use electrical test equipment: oscilloscopes, power analyzers, multimeters, etc.
- Knowledge of PLCs and industrial protocols (Ethernet/IP, OPC-UA) is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage schedules, tasks, and documentation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
- 3–5 years developing automated test equipment.
- Experience launching automated test systems in high-volume manufacturing.
- EV powertrain testing experience is a plus.
