QC Laboratory Technician
Job Summary
The Quality Control Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing a variety of microbiology functions under minimal supervision. These functions include:
- Microbiological Sampling and Testing
- Environmental Monitoring
- Microbial Plate Counting
- Sample Management: including receipt and shipment of samples
- General Lab Support: housekeeping, monitoring and maintaining lab supplies inventory
- Documentation of all activities according to current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and internal SOP's
Essential Functions
- Perform sample collection and testing of environmental surface/air and utilities.
- Use a wide variety of sophisticated equipment with responsibility for operation, maintenance, and daily calibration check (if appropriate).
- Prepare documentation of all laboratory work in accordance with cGMPs and SOPs, as appropriate.
- Ensure all laboratory work is conducted in compliance with applicable safety and environmental regulations.
- Maintain inventory of all laboratory chemicals and consumables.
- Maintain sample submission area as well as shipment of samples to external laboratories.
Requirements
Bachelor's in Biology/Microbiology or equivalent discipline. Preferred candidates will also have appropriate experience (typically 0 – 3 years),
OR Associate degree or High School Diploma with appropriate equivalent experience (typically 3 years)
- Knowledge and experience with analytical and microbiological techniques.
- Knowledge of cGMPs and laboratory safety.
- Experience working in a cGMP laboratory.
- Experience with aseptic sample collection and microbial testing.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
