Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods, managing deliveries, and providing excellent customer service. This role requires adherence to traffic regulations and safety standards, with a focus on timely and efficient delivery using various types of vehicles, including sprinter vans. Duties

• Safely operate commercial vehicles such as box trucks or personal vehicles for delivery purposes
• Load and unload goods using manual handling equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary
• Follow designated routes while adhering to traffic laws and DOT regulations.
• Manage delivery schedules efficiently to ensure timely arrival at destinations
• Assist with loading and securing cargo to prevent damage during transit
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries using mobile devices or other tracking tools
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery details
• Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
• Adhere to safe lifting practices when handling heavy items or materials requiring manual handling techniques
• Ensure proper documentation is completed for each delivery

Skills

• Proven experience in warehouse operations, commercial driving, or delivery driving roles
• Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual transmission vehicles
• Strong knowledge of route planning and driving routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and DOT regulations
• Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude during interactions with clients
• Experience with warehouse operations including moving goods and managing inventory
• Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform manual handling tasks in compliance with safety standards
• Familiarity with mobile devices for route navigation, communication, and record keeping
• Valid driver’s license suitable for driver roles, including courier or load & unload responsibilities
• Knowledge of weight handling in the workplace and safe lifting practices during material handling tasks
