Cleaner

Shift: 9:00AM - 1:00PM (Monday - Friday)

Position Overview:

The School Cleaner will provide cleaning and maintenance support across the center to ensure a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for children, staff, and families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily cleaning of classrooms, hallways, offices, bathrooms, and kitchen areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust surfaces to maintain a neat and orderly environment.
• Empty trash bins and replace liners regularly.
• Sanitize high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, tables, chairs, and restrooms to maintain health and safety standards.
• Ensure bathrooms and kitchen are cleaned and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Support teachers and staff by ensuring classrooms are supplied with paper towels, tissues, soap, and other cleaning materials.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs promptly to management.
• Perform deep cleaning tasks on a scheduled basis (e.g., weekly floor mopping, window cleaning, etc.).
• Assist with seasonal cleaning projects as directed by management.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in good working condition.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in cleaning, janitorial, or custodial work (school or childcare setting preferred).
• Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and the ability to use cleaning products responsibly.
• Ability to follow a cleaning schedule and complete tasks with attention to detail.
• Must maintain scheduled work hours but be flexible to meet center needs.
• Ability to work independently and with management direction.

Personal Qualities:

• Must enjoy working in a childcare/school environment.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Physically able to perform job duties including lifting up to 35 lbs, bending, standing, and walking for long periods.
• Must have a positive and supportive attitude toward staff, children, and families.
• Must be flexible in adapting to program needs and special cleaning requests.
• Willing to accept supervision and feedback to improve work performance.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe, sanitary environment.

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
