Overview
We are seeking a skilled Drywall Taper/Finisher to join our construction team. This role involves applying finishing techniques to drywall surfaces to create smooth, professional walls and ceilings for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of construction finishing, including taping, mudding, sanding, and detailing. A strong understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, and related trades such as carpentry and plastering is highly desirable. Responsibilities
- Apply joint compound and tape to drywall seams and corners with precision to ensure seamless surfaces
- Sand and smooth finished surfaces for painting or further finishing work
- Install drywall sheets on walls and ceilings according to project specifications
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute finishing tasks
- Collaborate with carpenters, plumbers, masons, and other trades to coordinate project workflows
- Assist in the installation of fixtures, trim carpentry, door hanging, and other related tasks as needed
- Identify and address issues such as water damage or mold remediation during finishing processes
- Maintain a clean work environment and ensure safety protocols are followed at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in drywall taping/finishing or related construction trades such as plastering or carpentry
- Knowledge of construction estimating and blueprint reading is preferred
- Familiarity with schematics, fixture installation, metal stud framing, and remodeling projects is a plus
- Experience in restoration industry work including water damage restoration or mold remediation is advantageous
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately
- Strong attention to detail with excellent craftsmanship skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various construction settings
- Physical ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods during work shifts
- Prior experience with flooring installation, tile laying, or airless paint spraying is beneficial but not required

Pay: $27.37 - $32.96 per hour
