Maxime’s is NYC’s newest private member’s club from entrepreneur Robin Birley; owner of prestigious private member’s clubs 5 Hertford Street and Oswald’s in London. Maxime’s mission is to provide exceptional and discreet service for our members through unparalleled hospitality. Our aim is to make members feel as though they are in a private home, enjoying outstanding food and wine surrounded by stunning decor.  

Maxime’s is a private member’s club from the entrepreneur Robin Birley, located on the Upper East Side in Manhattan, New York City.

We are seeking a Commis Sommelier to join our world- class hospitality brigade. Reporting to the Beverage Director, the Commis Sommelier will support the club beverage teams by receiving wine deliveries, maintaining cellars, and assisting on the restaurant floor while always elevating Maxime’s brand and hospitality standards.

What We’re Looking For

• 1 years minimum of restaurant service or wine retail experience in a high-caliber concept.
• Strong knowledge of wine and wine service as well as culinary concepts and terminology.
• Polished personal presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
• Thrives in high- end environments, consistently upholding superior service standards and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience.
• Capable of operating autonomously with minimal oversight.
• Maintains a professional, upbeat demeanor and embraces a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
• TIPS certification required.
• Pursues ongoing beverage education.
• Supports inventory management.
• Assists with monthly inventory audits.
• Ability to work a variable schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, per the needs of the business.
