Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Aide to join our healthcare team. This role involves supporting physical therapists in providing high-quality patient care across outpatient, inpatient, and post-acute settings. The ideal candidate will assist with patient intake, prepare treatment areas, and help facilitate therapy sessions, ensuring a smooth and efficient clinical environment. Prior hospital or clinic experience, along with knowledge of physiology and medical terminology, will be highly valued. Duties
- Assist physical therapists with patient care activities, including setting up equipment and preparing treatment areas
- Support patient intake processes, including gathering medical histories and explaining procedures
- Help facilitate therapy sessions by providing support with exercises and mobility assistance under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment spaces and equipment
- Monitor patient responses during therapy sessions and report any concerns to the supervising therapist
- Document patient progress and assist with administrative tasks as needed
- Support hospital or outpatient clinic operations by ensuring compliance with safety protocols and infection control standards
Qualifications
- Prior experience in hospital, outpatient, or clinic settings preferred, especially in orthopedics, geriatrics, or sub-acute care environments
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and acute care practices
- Strong patient service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced healthcare environments such as inpatient or outpatient clinics
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Experience with intake procedures and familiarity with post-acute care processes is desirable
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks including assisting patients with mobility and standing for extended periods
- Certification or training related to healthcare support is a plus but not required
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32.0 per week
