Job Title: Manufacturing Coordinator

Position Summary
The Manufacturing Coordinator at Maxi Grip is responsible for organizing and managing the flow of jobs through the shop—from order release to shipment. This role ensures all projects are properly scheduled, materials and tooling are ready, and that production priorities are clearly communicated to machinists, assembly, and quality teams. The Manufacturing Coordinator plays a central role in aligning engineering, purchasing, and production activities to ensure custom workholding systems are built on time and to specification.
Key Responsibilities1. Job Scheduling and Coordination
- Review incoming orders and coordinate with engineering and purchasing to ensure readiness for release.
- Develop and maintain the daily and weekly production schedule across machining, assembly, and inspection.
- Track progress of all active jobs and ensure priorities align with customer delivery commitments.
- Update and communicate job status through the ERP system or shared production tracker.
- Expedite high-priority jobs and resolve schedule conflicts in collaboration with the Operations Director.
2. Workflow and Communication
- Serve as the central point of contact between engineering, purchasing, machining, assembly, and quality.
- Distribute routers, prints, and job packets with correct revision levels.
- Communicate clear expectations and timelines to each department.
- Identify and escalate bottlenecks such as tooling delays, drawing revisions, or vendor part shortages.
- Coordinate outsourcing activities (heat treat, plating, grinding, etc.) to ensure external processes stay on schedule.
3. Documentation and Accuracy
- Verify all job packets contain current drawings, setup sheets, and inspection checklists.
- Ensure all material certifications, purchased components, and outside process documents are complete before final assembly.
- Maintain traceability records for each job through completion.
- Collect and review completed travelers and close out jobs in the ERP or scheduling system.
4. Process and Continuous Improvement
- Participate in daily production meetings and highlight workflow improvements.
- Support implementation of Lean manufacturing, 5S, and standardization initiatives.
- Track production metrics (WIP, lead time, on-time delivery) and present summary reports weekly.
- Recommend and assist in the creation of visual scheduling and Kanban systems for repeat product lines.
5. Safety and Compliance
- Maintain awareness of safety procedures and ensure they are followed in all work areas.
- Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and documentation practices (ISO 9001 or equivalent).
- Support internal and customer audits as needed by maintaining complete job records.
Qualifications
Education: Associate’s degree or higher in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Experience: Minimum 3 years in a production coordination, scheduling, or shop operations role within a machining or tooling environment.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of machining processes (CNC turning, milling, grinding, assembly).
- Understanding of manufacturing documentation (prints, BOMs, routers).
- Experience using ERP or production scheduling system Shoptech E2.
- Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and basic CAD or print reading.

Base Pay: $23.44 - $28.23 per hour
