Virtual Physician – Cardiology
Role Overview
The Virtual Cardiologist provides remote, patient-centered cardiovascular care, including diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of heart-related conditions. This role evaluates moderately complex to complex clinical scenarios and applies clinical expertise to deliver high-quality care in a virtual environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver virtual consultations to assess, diagnose, and manage cardiovascular conditions
- Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical evidence
- Collaborate with primary care providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care
- Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., ECGs, echocardiograms, lab work)
- Prescribe medications and recommend therapies in alignment with current clinical guidelines
- Provide follow-up care and monitor patient outcomes through virtual platforms
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted medical license in the applicable state(s)
- Board Certification in Cardiology
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in cardiology practice
- Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and telehealth platforms
- Knowledge of evidence-based cardiovascular care guidelines
Work Schedule & Environment
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Daily patient volume averages 4–6 scheduled visits, allowing for meaningful patient interaction
- Extended appointment times (approximately 45 minutes per visit)
- Responsibilities include a combination of virtual patient visits, eConsults, and referrals from primary care providers
- Focus on direct patient care, with administrative tasks limited to those related to patient management
Additional Requirements
- Must meet all state licensure requirements for practicing physicians
- This is a patient-facing role and participation in the TB (tuberculosis) screening program is required upon hire
