Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, adjusting, and maintaining tray formers, packaging machines, and material handling equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety and quality, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble new equipment from individual components such as motors, sprockets, gears, valves, and linkages.
- Wire electrical panels and field components.
- Perform machine setup, timing adjustments, and troubleshooting for mechanical and electrical issues.
- Collaborate with other departments, including Engineering, Machine Shop, Parts Room, Welding, and Service.
- Assist at other facilities (e.g., Waterjet, Olson, North Plant) as needed.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, manlifts, and dollies to complete tasks.
- Ensure compliance with all quality systems, including Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and company safety programs.
- Report safety concerns to appropriate personnel and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: At least 2 years of general work experience; mechanical or industrial experience preferred.
- Skills:
- Mechanically inclined with experience using hand tools, power tools, and complex machinery.
- Ability to work in high-temperature environments (exceeding 100°F).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including assembly drawings and parts lists.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, color recognition, and ability to adjust focus.
TRAINING REQUIRED BEFORE STARTING WORK IN THIS POSITION
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Food Safety protocols.
- Proper Lifting Techniques.
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Safety training for individual machines, tools, and processes (e.g., band saw, drill, etc.).
Work Environment:
- Exposure to high temperatures, moderate to high noise levels (hearing protection required), and potential exposure to dust, gases, fumes, or chemicals.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $25.51 per hour
