Material Handler

Componex is an innovative and industry leading company seeking candidates who have material handling experience in a Lean Manufacturing culture. You will be trained how to stock inventory and supplies on the production line and remove production waste, unload incoming materials and keep warehouse clean and organized. This is a critical position to keep production moving forward and assist the team in meeting our 5-day delivery commitment to our customers.

Material Handling duties include, but not limited to:

1. Material stocking and waste removal
   1. Using a fork truck, stock aluminum tubing on production racks and overflow areas.
   2. Stock point of use materials on the line.
   3. Stock perishable tooling and supplies on the line.
   4. Remove garbage, recycling, and aluminum chips from the line.
   5. Alert purchasing when outdoor hoppers are full
   6. Lubricate and package bearings for production or sales orders.
   7. Receive incoming material and supplies to ERP system.
2. Basic knowledge of Lean, One-Piece-Flow, and 5S will be beneficial, but not required. These concepts are critical to our success, so candidates should possess a strong desire to learn these concepts as they are part of our daily processes.
3. Verbal communication will be very important in this role as you will be part of a fast-paced team that motivates, challenges, and influences each other. Ability to direct others.
4. This job requires use of a forklift and hoists, employees are trained and certified by Maxcess on our equipment. Forklift experience is a plus.
5. This job requires a valid drivers’ license and good driving record. Individuals will be asked from time to time to pick up or deliver to local vendors using a company vehicle.
6. A qualified candidate would possess a strong self-driven work ethic. This position requires good decision making, critical thinking, safety orientation, and ability to prioritize workload.
7. This position required very good computer skills and ability to use email, messaging, Microsoft Word & Excel. Ability to learn and be proficient with multiple software programs.
8. Ability to use a screw gun, saw, and various hand tools.
9. This is a very physical position and will require employee to walk frequently, bend, lift, twist, stand, crouch.
10. This position will back up shipping clerk and crate builder.
