Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Plant Controller to support North American Operations and Supply Chain. This role partners closely with plant leadership to improve financial performance, drive cost visibility, and strengthen operational decision-making.
This is a working controller role—ideal for someone who enjoys being in the details (costing, analysis, reporting) while also influencing plant performance and business outcomes.
You will play a key role in standard costing, variance analysis, inventory management, and forecasting, while helping drive continuous improvement across manufacturing sites.
Key Responsibilities
Business Partnership
- Partner directly with plant leadership and operations teams to improve performance
- Provide clear, actionable insights on:
- Cost performance and productivity
- Inventory and working capital
- Material cost and savings initiatives
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and operational planning
- Perform ad hoc analysis to support business decisions
Plant Controllership
- Own month-end close for plant operations
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations
- Monitor and explain budget vs. actual results
- Analyze:
- Plant spending and cost trends
- Inventory valuation and accuracy
- Capacity and utilization
- Job / product line margins
- Ensure strong financial controls and compliance
Costing & Variance Analysis
- Maintain and improve standard costing processes
- Analyze key manufacturing variances:
- Labor, material, overhead
- Purchase price and usage
- Work with operations to identify root causes and drive improvements
Process Improvement
- Help improve financial processes and reporting across plants
- Support continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives
- Standardize reporting and metrics where possible
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Experience
- 5–8 years in manufacturing finance, cost accounting, or plant accounting
- Experience with standard costing and variance analysis
- Experience supporting plant or operations teams
- ERP experience required (Epicor a plus)

Salary : $90,000 - $120,000
