What You'll Do:
- Manage the complete billing cycle for assigned accounts, including charge entry, payment posting, edits, rejections, and follow-up on unpaid claims.
- Verify insurance coverage and patient eligibility.
- Accurately interpret and process Explanations of Benefits (EOBs).
- Investigate and appeal denied claims; submit corrected claims as needed.
- Monitor and manage patient Accounts Receivable (A/R) with attention to detail.
- Access insurance portals to verify claim status and coverage information.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure efficient patient service and compliance with deadlines.
- Handle patient billing communications, explaining charges, copays, deductibles, and coinsurance.
- Support multiple projects as needed, shifting priorities based on business demands.
- Respond to patient billing inquiries (as needed) with professionalism and clarity.
- Act as a liaison with insurance companies and medical providers on billing issues.
What You Bring:
- 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred; understanding of insurance and medical billing processes.
- Certification in billing (preferred but not required).
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance plans, and HMOs.
- Excellent communication skills—professional, empathetic, and clear.
- A collaborative spirit and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Comfort working in an office setting and on a computer for extended periods.
- High attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
