Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and motivated Retail Sales Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, assist customers with product selection, and ensure the sales floor is well-maintained. This role involves engaging with customers both in person and over the phone, demonstrating product features, and supporting store operations to create a positive shopping experience. Prior experience in retail sales, cashiering, or grocery store environments is a plus. Bilingual skills are highly valued to better serve our diverse customer base.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs
- Operate POS systems for transactions, including cash handling and retail math calculations
- Conduct product demos and upsell items to enhance sales opportunities
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves and organizing displays
- Perform cashier duties with accuracy and excellent phone etiquette
- Support inventory management through stocking and inventory checks
- Assist in visual merchandising to create attractive product displays
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
- Supervise or assist in supervising team members when needed, ensuring smooth store operations
- Engage customers through effective communication skills to promote products and store promotions
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales, grocery stores, or similar environments preferred
- Strong communication skills and friendly demeanor for customer interactions
- Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations
- Experience with POS systems and cashiering procedures
- Ability to perform upselling and product demonstrations effectively
- Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving a diverse clientele
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and retail sales best practices
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
- Supervising experience is advantageous but not required; leadership qualities are appreciated
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends if needed
