Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Marketing & Communications Manager to lead and execute strategic communications initiatives for our growing aerospace organization. This individual will serve as the primary liaison for external communications, media relations, agency management, executive visibility, and brand positioning.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned communications professional with aerospace industry experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and partnering directly with executive leadership. This role requires strong strategic thinking, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple external vendors and initiatives simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communications & Public Relations
- Develop and execute company-wide communications and public relations strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and press opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, industry publications, media outlets, and strategic partners within the aerospace and defense sectors.
- Draft press releases, executive statements, company announcements, talking points, and media materials.
Executive Branding & Industry Engagement
- Support the CEO and executive leadership team with external visibility initiatives.
- Coordinate and manage conference participation, speaking engagements, panel opportunities, interviews, and industry events.
- Develop executive messaging, presentations, biographies, and keynote support materials.
- Identify strategic opportunities to elevate the company and executive presence within the aerospace industry.
Agency & Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with external PR firms, marketing agencies, creative vendors, and consultants.
- Oversee agency deliverables, timelines, budgets, and performance metrics.
- Ensure all external communications and branding efforts remain aligned with company standards and objectives.
Social Media & Digital Presence
- Lead social media strategy and execution, with a focus on LinkedIn and X.
- Develop and maintain a professional, consistent, and engaging digital brand presence.
- Create and manage content calendars, executive thought leadership content, and company updates.
- Monitor analytics, engagement metrics, and industry trends to optimize performance.
Marketing & Brand Support
- Assist with corporate marketing initiatives, brand positioning, and promotional campaigns.
- Support the development of marketing collateral, presentations, event materials, and website content.
- Ensure consistency in messaging across all internal and external channels.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- 5–10 years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, or executive communications.
- Prior experience within the aerospace, aviation, defense, or advanced technology industries is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with executive leadership teams and external stakeholders.
- Proven experience managing outside PR, marketing, and creative agencies.
- Strong media relations experience and established press contacts are a plus.
- Exceptional writing, editing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience managing professional social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn and X.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a dynamic environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting executive thought leadership initiatives.
- Familiarity with aerospace industry conferences, trade shows, and media outlets.
- Experience coordinating speaking engagements and executive appearances.
