Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience (MPFI) is currently seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our Procurement team as a Shipping & Receiving Coordinator. The selected candidate is responsible for the physical and administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment for the Institute.
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator unpacks and checks goods received against packing slips, purchase orders and/or invoices; delivers received goods to the appropriate department or staff member; tracks orders and upcoming deliveries, acknowledges and accepts receipt of goods on behalf of the Institute, assists in the assignment of Institute property; maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items as necessary; fulfils return items as required; fulfills and coordinates outgoing shipments: packs, prepares shipping labels and drops off if needed; manages inventory of laboratory specialty gases, assists with deliveries as needed, monitors and reconciles gas inventories across the Institute; assists in purchasing materials and supplies as needed; serves as back-up for purchase order processing; operates a manual pallet jack; lifts items up to 50 lbs; and performs other duties as assigned or as appropriate.
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, in addition to a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience. The selected candidate must possess attention to detail and accuracy; the ability to build and maintain rapport and must have excellent communication and follow up skills;
Good working knowledge and experience with MS Office including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook; high levels of discretion, professional judgment, ethics and confidentiality. Knowledge of standard business accounting software is preferred (NetSuite ERP).
