Role Description
This full-time, on-site Marine Electronics Repair Technician role is based in Pompano Beach, FL. The technician will diagnose, repair, and test a variety of marine electronic equipment, such as navigation systems, communication devices, sonar, and related components. Day-to-day tasks include disassembling units, performing board-level repairs, soldering components, and replacing defective parts to restore full functionality. The role also involves using electronic test equipment, following wiring diagrams and service manuals, and documenting all work performed in a clear and organized manner. The technician will collaborate with team members, maintain a clean and safe workspace, manage parts and inventory related to repairs, and support continuous improvement of repair processes and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on skills in Electronics Repair and Electronics Technology, with experience working on electronic devices or systems.
- Proficiency in Soldering, including through-hole and surface-mount components, with attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Demonstrated ability in Electronic Troubleshooting to diagnose issues at the component and system level.
- Familiarity with electronic test equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies) and reading schematics or wiring diagrams.
- Previous experience with marine electronics or similar technical environments is required.
- Ability to work on-site full time, stand for extended periods, and safely handle tools and equipment.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple repair tasks.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, safety-focused environment.
- Technical training, certification, or coursework in electronics, marine technology, or a related field is a plus.
