Associate Planner
REPORTS TO: Director of Planning
THE ROLE |
The Associate Planner assists the Planning Team in developing and executing the
merchandise and assortment plan for MaxMara and Weekend Stores and Concessions in
North America to reach company goals, maximize sales and margin and optimizing
inventory. Moreover, he/she works closely with Retail team to plan sales targets, oversees
and monitor sales in season and ensures project documentation is organized, up-to-date,
and easily accessible in order to track performances and meet business objectives.
CORE RESPONSIBILTIES |
Support to Planning - develop the full merchandise planning process for MaxMara and
Weekend Stores and Concessions, including set up of all relevant budgeting templates,
pulling historical data, analyzing performance, developing Buying plan which reference
history but also look ahead to support growth
Support to Buying Team - Partner with Director of Planning and Buyers to establish ideal
assortment by collection and department, tracking Buying actuals and revise budgets as
necessary
Data collection and analysis - gather and organize data to support planning projects,
often using internal tools and databases; perform historical analysis at
department/collection level to determine opportunities to grow sales/margin and optimize
inventory
Reporting and Tracking – generates reports, presentations, and other documentation
related to planning projects, sales, budgets and goals, supports in ad hoc analysis for
Department Heads, Corporate visits and Monthly Business updates
Assist Division Head in daily activities
Acquire and develop product knowledge
REQUIRED SKILLS/EDUCATION:
- Minimum 2 year of experience in Planning/Buying/Allocation is preferred,
- Fashion background is a plus but not mandatory
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in merchandising, finance, business or a related
field
- Superb computer skills; highly proficient in Excel
- Highly detailed oriented, organized, and analytical
- Good understanding of retail math including sales, margins, weeks of supply ect
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively
Salary : $67,000 - $75,000
