What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hand Form Operator-2nd Shift position at MAX AEROSTRUCTURES LLC?
MAX Aerostructures supplies the aircraft industry with parts from small to large, partnering from the beginning to manage the supply base and take care of each customer every step of the way.
The Hand Former position requires the ability to form sheet, plate, extrusion and machine parts of ferrous and non-ferrous metals to engineering requirements.
Job duties include:
- Set up and operate forming machines ( Ex: arbor press, hydraulic press, stretch press, shrinker / stretcher)
- Determine, select and set pressures by trial and error method and record this data for future set-ups
- Use air hammer or mallets to form metal if wrinkles are present
- Fabricate and utilize custom forming tools to make minor adjustments to part
- Check parts visually against specified inspection media (Ex: surface table, contour template, mylar)
- Make adjustments to press when necessary to form the part properly.
Materials, Tools and Equipment Used
- Materials worked with: Ferrous and non-ferrous metal alloys in the form of extrusions, machined parts, sheet and plate stock
- Tools used: Hand tools, mallets, air hammers, check fixtures, calipers, micrometers, scales, tape measures
- Equipment used: Arbor press, hydraulic press, shrinker / stretcher
Hours will be Monday thru Thursday 3:30pm-2:00am.
