MAWD | March and White Design is seeking an experienced Regional Business Development Lead to lead and expand the firm’s presence across the Western United States. This role is focused on cultivating new client relationships, driving strategic growth, and positioning MAWD as a preferred design partner within the hospitality, luxury development sectors.
The ideal candidate brings a strong marketing sensibility alongside proven business development expertise, with the ability to translate MAWD’s brand, design vision, and thought leadership into compelling client-facing narratives and growth initiatives.
This position will be based in MAWD’s Los Angeles studio and will directly report to the Head of Business Development & Marketing, working in close collaboration to support firm-wide growth initiatives and long-term business strategy.
Responsibilities
Market Presence, Brand & Strategic Growth
- Strengthen MAWD’s brand visibility and footprint across key West Coast markets, with a focus on California and other strategic regions such as Mexico & Hawaii.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align business development efforts with brand strategy, campaigns, and studio positioning.
- Contribute to marketing initiatives including thought leadership, industry events, awards submissions, client communications, and strategic partnerships that support business growth.
- Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and pipeline opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.
- Support long-term growth planning in alignment with the Head of Business Development & Marketing and firm leadership.
Collaboration, Proposals & Storyrelling
- Work closely with the Head of Business Development & Marketing as well as design leadership to develop compelling proposals, presentations, and credentials tailored to each opportunity.
- Apply strong storytelling and brand awareness to articulate MAWD’s design philosophy, differentiators, and commercial value across all client-facing materials.
- Ensure consistency of messaging, brand positioning, and visual identity across all business development efforts.
- Participate in client meetings, interviews, and presentations, both virtually and in person.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5–7 years of experience in business development, marketing, client relations, or strategic growth roles within architecture, interior design, real estate development, hospitality, or luxury residential sectors.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with marketing teams or leading marketing-driven growth initiatives, including proposals, branding, events, or thought leadership.
- Established network within the West Coast hospitality and development market strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to originate and secure new business opportunities.
- Strong understanding of brand positioning, messaging, and storytelling within a luxury or design-led context.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel as required for client meetings, presentations, and industry events.
