Role: Senior Database Engineer (PostgreSQL) Location: Plano, TX (5 Days Onsite)
Interview Process:In-person interview at the client office in Plano, TX.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, optimize, and maintain PostgreSQL database systems.
Perform query tuning, indexing, replication, backup, and recovery.
Monitor database performance and resolve performance bottlenecks.
Collaborate with application developers on database design and data modeling.
Support PostgreSQL upgrades, migrations, and database security.
Implement monitoring and observability using Prometheus and Grafana.
Participate in on-call support, incident management, and process improvement initiatives.
Required Skills:
5 years of overall IT experience.
3 years of hands-on PostgreSQL database engineering experience.
Strong expertise in PostgreSQL performance tuning, partitioning, replication, backup, and recovery.
Experience with pgBackRest, Barman, pg_stat_statements, pgBadger, and pgBouncer.
Experience with Liquibase or AtlasGo.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s), Docker, Terraform, and Ansible.
Familiarity with Git/GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with PostgreSQL Operators such as CloudNativePG or EDB Postgres is preferred.
Experience with Helm Charts, StatefulSets, and Red Hat OpenShift is a plus.
Strong understanding of relational databases, NoSQL databases, and data modeling.
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
