Enterprise Architect - Remote Contract

Our client has an immediate need for a Enterprise Architect.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for defining, governing, and evolving the customer’s enterprise-wide technology architecture to ensure alignment with business strategy, operational needs, and long-term transformation goals.
This role bridges business leadership, IT delivery teams, and security/governance functions, translating strategy into executable architectural roadmaps.
The EA must be capable of presenting strategic solutions to customers and building consensus.
You will lead a team of highly skilled engineers supporting consulting engagements partnering with the customers to optimize their current operating environment, modernize the future-state environment, and deliver future-proof architecture.
The EA will be responsible for delivery of the Engagement Methodology which begins by understanding where the customer is on their transformation journey, helping them navigate the complexity by adopting a strategic holistic approach. This includes optimization of their current operating environment, modernization of their future-state environment, and partnering with them on the execution of future-proof architecture.
OPTIMIZATION
The EA will guide the customers through optimization of their current application and infrastructure integration. Successful modernization initiatives begin with a solid understanding of the current state infrastructure, this is a key input to the development of roadmaps supporting short-term, midterm and long-term business outcomes.
MODERNIZATION The EA will guide the customers through the modernization of their Network and Security infrastructure. This requires an enterprise view of current technology investments to establish a roadmap and phased new technology adoption plan aligned with customer budget and change risk appetite. Leverages a comprehensives platform centric business-oriented approach designed to deliver secure, resilient, and cost-effective infrastructures aligned with business outcomes.
EXECUTION
The EA will perform design and implementation of the solutions architecture roadmap in partnership with customer IT teams.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Architecture & Strategy - Establish and lead customer engagement in architecture review boards (ARBs).
Architecture Governance
Transformation & Modernization- Drive digital transformation, cloud adoption, modernization,
Business & Stakeholder Engagement
Tools & Frameworks
• Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF
• Maintain architecture artifacts using tools like LeanIX, Mega, Sparx EA, ServiceNow, or similar.
• Promote reuse through reference architectures, patterns, and blueprints.
• Application security assessments aligned with ITIL 4 best practices
Required Qualifications
• 10 years of progressive IT experience with 5 years in architecture roles.
• Strong experience across multiple architecture domains:
o Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
o Enterprise networking and security (Zero Trust, SASE, SD-WAN)
o Modern application architectures (microservices, APIs, containers)
o Familiarity with ITIL, COBIT, NIST, or similar governance frameworks.
• Experience in large-scale enterprise environments or regulated industries.
• Experience managing architecture projects including leadership of cross discipline teams.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to facilitate technical conversations with nontechnical stakeholders.
