Maintenance Technician

Role Overview

• Ensure production equipment remains operational by performing mechanical installations, executing minor machine adjustments, managing preventative maintenance schedules, and logging detailed maintenance data to help the team achieve a target of zero downtime, alongside general facility upkeep.

Required Experience and Skills

• Possess at least five years of professional experience in industrial or mechanical maintenance, ideally within an automotive manufacturing or machining setting.
• Background as a journeyman millwright, toolmaker, pipe fitter, or machine repair specialist is highly desirable.
• Demonstrate proficiency in interpreting blueprints and pneumatic or hydraulic schematics.
• Execute standard machine restoration tasks, including replacing lines and bearings or rebuilding spindles.
• Operate tool room machinery such as surface grinders, engine lathes, and Bridgeport equipment.
• Create small machine parts within the tool room environment when needed.
• Understand the fundamentals of cellular or lean manufacturing principles.
• Familiarity with CNC control systems is considered an advantage.
• Experience with G-Code programming is viewed as a benefit.
• Basic welding capabilities are a plus.
• Competency in operating a standard personal computer.
• Familiarity with standard practices and codes related to industrial facilities.

Primary Duties

• Champion top-tier safety protocols to help foster a secure work environment for all personnel.
• Diagnose mechanical issues across various production processes, including drilling, milling, grinding, turning, broaching, washing, gauging, and spline rolling.
• Support the team by assisting with equipment changeovers and setups as needed.
• Identify and resolve mechanical faults in robotics, conveyance systems, and automated material handling equipment to improve overall system reliability.
• Complete assigned machine modifications with minimal oversight once the initial requirements have been explained.
• Execute both preventative and predictive maintenance tasks to ensure long-term equipment health.
• Engage in collaborative cross-functional meetings to contribute to effective problem-solving initiatives.
