Heavy Duty Fleet Maintenance Technician

As a Fleet Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our heavy-duty vehicle fleet. You will leverage your expertise in diesel engine systems and complex diagnostics to keep our transportation assets performing at their peak, directly impacting the efficiency of our daily operations.

• Execute comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy-duty vehicle systems, including electrical, braking, cooling, and drivetrain components.
• Validate the success of all repairs through rigorous test-driving and quality assurance checks to ensure fleet safety.
• Maintain detailed documentation of all service activities, parts usage, and labor time to ensure accurate maintenance records.
• Uphold a high standard of shop safety and organization, adhering to all regulatory compliance protocols.
• Proactively identify and report potential mechanical issues or maintenance needs to prevent future downtime.
• Perform on-site road calls and emergency repairs to minimize service disruptions.
• Collaborate with senior technical staff to address complex mechanical failures and ensure optimal vehicle performance.

Required Skills

• 2-4 years of professional experience in medium or heavy-duty fleet maintenance.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engine systems, electrical circuits, and AC units.
• Strong working knowledge of vehicle suspension, transmission, and braking systems.
• Ability to utilize personal hand tools effectively for standard mechanical repairs.
• Demonstrated ability to make sound technical decisions under pressure.

Preferred Skills

• Current ASE certifications in relevant heavy-duty categories.
• Experience working with both diesel and gasoline-powered fleet vehicles.
• Advanced understanding of modern vehicle diagnostic software and telematics.
