Maverick Search Partners is seeking a self-driven Controller to lead financial operations with minimal supervision. This role fully in office role combines strategic leadership with hands-on ownership of AR, financial reporting, forecasting, and contract oversight, while serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership. You’ll supervise one direct report, drive process improvements, and implement a new accounting package to scale operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead monthly close, P&L reporting, forecasting, and financial trend analysis
- Own AR operations, billing, collections, and commission reporting
- Manage customer contracts, renewals, and vendor agreements
- Supervise and develop one team member, building accounting capability
- Drive system optimization (Sage Intacct, Timberline) and workflow improvements
- Communicate transparently with leadership, vendors, and customers
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Sage Intacct and Timberline (preferred)
- Experience leading financial operations and supervising staff
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proven track record of process improvement and independent execution
