Hands-On Accounting Manager – Small Growing Company in Smyrna/Marietta
Maverick Search Partners is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for a tight-knit team where you'll wear multiple hats and truly own the financials. This is a fully in-office position perfect for someone who thrives in a small company environment and enjoys being directly involved in day-to-day operations.
What You'll Do:
- Manage the full accounting cycle from AR to monthly close
- Handle billing, collections, and commission tracking
- Prepare monthly P&L reports and financial summaries for leadership
- Oversee customer contracts, renewals, and vendor relationships
- Supervise one accounting team member
- Help implement and optimize our accounting software (Sage Intacct/Timberline)
- Be the go-to financial resource for our leadership team
What We're Looking For:
- 5 years of accounting experience, ideally in small to mid-sized companies
- Comfortable being hands-on with AR, AP, and daily transactions (not just supervising)
- Experience with accounting software implementation or transitions
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
- Someone who enjoys variety and doesn't mind rolling up their sleeves
- Clear communicator who can explain financials to non-financial stakeholders
