Role Overview
This role blends core accounting and finance responsibilities with HR and employee benefits administration and elements of general office management. This is a unique opportunity to build and shape a critical function within a fast-growing company. As the company continues to grow, we anticipate this position evolving into a more strategic leadership role with added support staff based in the U.S.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Core Qualifications
- 6–10 years of experience in a Controller or full-charge bookkeeping role, with direct responsibility for: Accounts receivable and payable, Financial statement preparation, Budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis (FP&A), Regulatory compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline
- CPA designation preferred
- In Person at Schenectady, NY HQ
Strongly Preferred
- Prior experience in a startup or high-growth company, with a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Strong HR experience, particularly in managing or supporting distributed/global teams
- Experience with CRMs, accounting software and general workflow automation
Nice to Have
- Experience with international compliance and taxation, particularly U.S.–India operations
- Background in the technology or AI software sector
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Finance
- Own budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
- Prepare and manage financial statements and reports
- Oversee audits, tax filings, and compliance (U.S. India)
- Support investor updates and board materials
Employee Benefits & HR Support
- Manage compensation and benefits programs (U.S. India)
- Build scalable HR processes (onboarding, performance reviews, L&D)
- Shape talent acquisition strategy with local teams
- Foster culture and employee engagement
Team Management & Growth
- Lead and collaborate with finance & HR team (India-based)
- Identify future U.S. support roles as the company scales
- Promote collaboration and accountability across functions
Office Administration
- Oversee day-to-day office operations and vendor relationships
- Act as point of contact for external service providers
