The individual exercises independent judgment and discretion on matters of significance, including documentation architecture, tooling decisions, and process improvements that impact business operations. The primary duty of this role is the strategic oversight and governance of documentation systems and processes; document development is performed as an extension of this responsibility. As part of the Research and Development Department, this role plays a key part in evaluating, selecting, and implementing documentation tools and systems, as well as influencing product and operational processes through documentation strategy.

May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods. Key Responsibilities
- Establish, govern, and enforce organization-wide documentation standards, policies, and best practices.
- Lead review sessions and direct collaboration resulting in the highest product quality outcome.
- Own and direct end-to-end documentation programs, including scope definition, prioritization, and strategic alignment with business objectives.
- Own and govern the lifecycle for operation documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and Manuals.
- Develop complex, high-impact technical documentation that requires interpretation of engineering data, independent judgment, and alignment with business and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a subject matter expert and internal consultant to business units on documentation strategy and process improvement.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and cross-functional teams, influencing business processes and operational strategy through documentation expertise.
- Own documentation lifecycle management, ensuring compliance, usability, and efficiency.
- Own and govern documentation libraries and systems, including structure, access, and optimization for business use.
- Influence cross-functional decision-making related to documentation, tools, and workflows.
- Drive documentation strategies and process improvements that directly impact operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and product quality.
- Participate in R&D initiatives, including testing, evaluation, and implementation of new systems.
- Review and approve documentation for accuracy, consistency, and compliance, with authority to require revisions and enforce standards.
- Make independent decisions regarding documentation architecture, tools, and processes, with outcomes that significantly impact business operations.
- Perform work that is predominantly intellectual and varied in nature, requiring consistent exercise of discretion and independent judgment.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical, mechanical, manufacturing, Quality team or related field, with demonstrated progression in responsibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent advanced experience).
- Demonstrated expertise in documentation architecture, information design, or knowledge management systems.
- MS office products and Adobe document tools.
- XML or HTML experience.
- SharePoint.
- Advanced ability to interpret complex engineering and technical data and translate into structured, compliant documentation.
- General knowledge of ISO and other electrical standards.
- Technical and mechanical knowledge of low and medium voltage electrical equipment.
- MS office products. (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio)

- Prior manufacturing industry experience
- Prior manufacturing quality team experience
- Must be able to lift up to twenty-five pounds at a time.
- Prolonged periods sitting, standing, walking, and performing repetitive tasks.
- Prolonged periods standing on the manufacturing floor and sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must have vision correctable to 20/20 and be able to wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, boots, gloves, etc.).
